SERVICES
Group Hikes

Group hikes are best suited for dogs who get along well with others.
Our day begins with a pick-up between 8:30-10 a.m., at least 3 hours spent on the trails and drop-off between 2:30-4:30 p.m.
With a maximum of 4-6 pups per handler, each dog is guaranteed one-on-one undivided attention and care. Our doggie van includes top of the line crash-tested crates and ensures a safe, comfortable ride for everyone. Option for on or off-leash trekking depending on dog's recall and owner's preference. We will provide Garmin GPS collars which connects to our satellite as an extra safety precaution.
With a new dog, we will first schedule a complimentary "meet n' greet" before introducing to the group and beginning our adventures.
Dogs return home calm, happy, and tired out. Also Included are plenty of photos/videos and an end-of-day report of our trip.
Pet Portraits!
Using the beautiful photos taken on our hikes, or a photo of your choice, Hiker/dog lover Shaina offers hand-drawn portraits of pooches as either an add-on or separate service to our hikes. Portrait proceeds go to local animal shelters.

Our Story
Founder of DoggieVentures NYC

As a kid, my overwhelming adoration of dogs led me to befriend nearly every one of them that lived within a mile radius of my home. When I wasn't with our family dog, Boomer, I was walking neighbor's dogs for fun.
Growing up in New Jersey, my friends and I would regularly take our dogs out on nearby trails or to the beach for exercise, which they loved as much as we did. After moving to New York, walking/sitting dogs for several years, I saw how difficult it is to give my clients, or even my own dog the active outdoor time and connection to nature that they crave when living in a metropolis.
In 2023, I adopted a rescue from the ACC in Brooklyn (a high-volume kill shelter), Mila, who was scared of her own shadow, reluctant to walk even a block away from my apartment with fear of every sound and siren she heard. My husband and I, being avid hikers, decided to bring Mila along on our adventures and just watched as she blossomed. We watched her gain confidence with each trip and her mood elevate for days to come. Clients' dogs who had struggled with stress or energy-induced behavioral issues finally found relief after a good hike. As they say, "A tired dog is a good dog", and a happy one at that.
One thing that has remained top of mind for me since I was a child is the welfare of animals in shelters. I found that I could use art as a tool to raise money and awareness for forgotten animals. Long story short, I decided to combine my greatest passions: dogs, hiking/nature, and drawing, to cultivate DoggieVentures NYC: Offering dog hiking, sitting, and pet portrait services in an attempt to better the lives of dogs and their human counterparts.
